Why have a chemical peel with us?

The treatment is carried out by Dr Jana Votrubová, Ph.D., a specialist in dermatology with experience in laser treatments and dermal fillers. Depending on the condition of the skin, we select a glycolic acid concentration of 15 per cent, 40 per cent or 70 per cent.

About the procedure

How will the procedure be carried out?

During a 10–15-minute outpatient treatment, the most commonly used concentrated glycolic acid (either 15, 40 or 70 per cent), which is derived from sugar cane as a natural product, is applied evenly to the previously cleansed and degreased area using a brush.

The action of the substance causes disruption (destruction) of the epidermal layer of the skin, resulting in almost immediate peeling and renewal.

After a very short period of application, the peeling mixture is neutralised and removed. To achieve the best results, it is recommended that the treatment be repeated several times at intervals of 2–3 weeks.

What problems can a chemical peel help me with?

A medical chemical peel helps to rejuvenate the face, reduce pigmentation, even out skin tone, soften the appearance of acne scars, tighten the skin around the eyes and clear the skin of enlarged pores.

Depending on the concentration of the substance applied, the duration of action and the depth of penetration, we perform superficial, medium-depth or deep chemical peels.

What about recovery after the procedure?

Within 5–14 days after the procedure, the skin will start to peel and will be extremely sensitive to sunlight during this time. It is therefore essential to apply cream and avoid direct sunlight, including visits to sunbeds.

For this reason, you should consider any potential impact on your ability to work if you work outdoors.

How long does the effect of a chemical peel last?

A partial effect is visible immediately; the full effect of a single session becomes apparent after 14 days.

How long the results last depends on a whole range of factors – the frequency of treatment sessions, combination with other procedures (botulinum toxin injections, microneedle radiofrequency), the individual’s skin condition and lifestyle.

However, the change is always long-lasting.

Are chemical peels carried out in spring and summer?

The treatment can be carried out all year round, provided that the client does not expose themselves to intense sunlight.

Is a chemical peel suitable for everyone?

Generally speaking: Both women and men can undergo the procedure (the minimum age is 15), and it can be combined with other aesthetic treatments, including laser treatments (e.g. hyaluronic acid fillers, mesotherapy, etc.).

The only requirement is a thorough analysis of the skin’s condition, to rule out any allergic reactions or medical contraindications – and these are precisely the services we provide.

A chemical peel is an outpatient, simple, non-invasive procedure, after which the skin appears rejuvenated, even-toned, smooth and radiant.

It reduces sebum production and is suitable for all skin types. It can be applied to the face, neck, décolletage, hands and back.
